Today i became the very proud owner of GHD hair straightening irons ( thanks to my lovely hubby who insisted i got a treat). Specifically the Scarlet Limited edition deluxe set.
Whats in the box:
- GHD gold edition styler with scarlet plates.
- GHD travel Hairdryer.
- Gorgeous red satin clutch bag which is heatproof and can be used as a mat to safely place the irons on when hot.
- A really spacious vanity box in red satin, lined in luscious black satin.
- 2 sectioning clips.
- A plate guard to keep the irons closed when not in use and keep the plates safe from damage.
I was so excited to get them home and give them a try. i have medium length, quite thick hair. i started by curling my hair, it only took 30 Min's to do the whole head and that's with me being a novice. i could easily make lose or tight curls just by changing how quickly i moved the irons down the length of hair. fast movement to an inch wide piece of hair made lose tousled waves, going more slowly and really twisting the irons made gorgeous bouncy ringlets.
after my 1st go i needed to wash my hair anyway. this was a good chance for a speed test. i washed and conditioned my hair, gave it a gentle squeeze with the towel to get a lot of the moisture out. the little travel hairdryer has 3 settings, cold, warm and hot. for such a small dryer it whizzed through my hair in 5-10 Min's only. i was really impressed. i sectioned my hair with the clips (they held really well) and was through 3 layers in no time at all. its really precise and i could shape the layers to frame my face with no trouble and no having to redo what i had done as i have found with other straightening irons. all in all it took me less than 30 Min's to wash, dry and straighten my hair...really good news for a busy, working mum.
I LOVE THESE STRAIGHTENING IRONS!!
